Joseph Filippetti

Associate Attorney

Attorney Joseph Filippetti handles all aspects of family law matters – contested and uncontested divorce, paternity cases, DOR and DCF cases, modification and contempt actions, and father's rights matters.

In contested divorce matters, Joe puts his many years of service as a prosecutor and Assistant District Attorney to work when his clients have a spouse who is trying to be difficult by claiming he or she is unable to financially support the children and insisting they will not provide any financial support – when the judge has already indicated his client will be entitled to it. Mr. Filippetti is also strong in family law discovery and is a tireless advocate when he believes the opposing party is hiding assets, or is purposely unemployed – or even underemployed.

All across Massachusetts, new clients contact Attorney Filippetti when both parties to a divorce action wish to proceed on the uncontested track – when they want to spend less money, less time, and shelter their children from the long-lasting affect of a contentious divorce. Of late, Attorney Filippetti has also found himself defending clients against 209A restraining orders and domestic relations abuse prevention orders that have been put into place after false allegations have been made before the Court. If you are facing a tough situation like false allegations of child abuse, denied visitation, or having recently lost custody, Joe Filippetti can help.

Mr. Filippetti has also written for several legal publications, appeared on different television programs, and served as a member of the adjunct faculty at the Massachusetts School of Law. Joe is a graduate of Anna Maria College, he received his Juris Doctorate from the Massachusetts School of Law, and is licensed to practice law in both Massachusetts and Connecticut (where he handles the majority of the firm’s divorce matters).
